Screening & Restrictions
Our objective is to increase the flow of funding to Movements and adhere to trust based philanthropic principles. However there are limitations, and currently we will not support:
- Applications that present high safeguarding risks particularly those that accommodate children and vulnerable adults in institutional settings
- Applications from FAFT high risk countries that are not accessible via our wire transfer service
- Movements linked to political parties, including advancing the work of a party as a separate entity.
- Any movement that has personnel on the financial sanctions list
- Other serious concerns raised by internet searches
- Direct action and illegal protest unless there are clear mitigating reasons to support the movement e.g. a move to expand and moderate tactics, a clear balance that demonstrates that the majority of activities are focused on moderate education etc
Movements can be screened as presenting a risk, but are accepted none-the-less with conditional and ongoing ‘red flag’ screening and close monitoring.
